Sugar Throws Massive Circuit Party To Mark Official Launch, Introduces New Vocalist In Club Scene, Video Premiere From Nation’s Top Dance Music DJ
The best things in life are three and this week that holds especially true at Sugar, the newest minted dance club in the capital city. For three nights from Thursday 29th September to Saturday 1st October, Sugar will celebrate its official launch after shaking itself up from a live band venue to an all-out dance music club.
Dubbed SWEET X-CESS, the party begins with the indomitable, full-fledged DISCO SUPERDIVAS taking over on Thursday 29th September. DISCO SUPERDIVAS encapsulate glamour, kitsch and hedonism, and they are here to let you have it with a pure and heavenly retrospective of immortal dance floor anthems from the ‘70s and their own exotic dances.
KENNY K pushes the SWEET X-CESS feeling on Friday 30th September with his trademarked session of uplifting twisted floor-fillers, cool funky house and future vocal anthems. That’s why peers, clubbers and critics alike consider KENNY K to be the master of 21st-century disco.
Friday night also introduces a brand new soul avenger to the dance music scene. MICHELLE NUNEZ was one of the great vocalists of the now-defunct Piano Bar @ 1919 Bistro, and you’ll know why the former jazz singer was dubbed “Thunderbird” when she makes her first proper club PA for Sugar. MICHELLE NUNEZ is a legend and this will be a fantastic treat.
Headlining SWEET X-CESS on Saturday 1st October is L.A. and Bangkok transplant GIORGIO ACOSTA, who jets in to deliver a sexy, steamy and seminal journey from playful Sin City house to heady Latin percussions to bang-on Afro beats and tribal drums.
Sharing the top bill on Saturday is none other than JUNGLE JERRY. One of Malaysia’s most prolific and successful club DJs, no other can touch his superb mixing abilities. The final night party is also dubbed WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, to mark the premiere of his brand new music video MUSIC IS MY LIFE, the second single taken from the PRESENCE 02 mix-CD.
